Acadian Sunrise for concert band is a piece inspired by a trip to Acadia National Park in 2011. I was overwhelmed by the beauty of this place especially with the sunrise on the top of Cadillac Mountain. This spot is extra special as it is the first place that the United States receives sunlight each morning. This piece works to develop lyrical playing in high school or collegiate level concert bands and also offers the opportunity to feature solo flugelhorn and piano in the ensemble.
